Development of a resilient performance investing planning tool

Grid was selected by the National Technical Institute of Standards and Technology to create an online tool for building resilience of highway systems. The tool smoothly integrates with available datasets and online resources and requires minimum additional input from the user to perform loss assessments and estimate the time required for the network to return to function or service following an earthquake event. Using a novel instance of the tool, the user can screen the cost and benefits of alternative rehabilitation plans and optimize funds allocation to critical components or links for achieving enhanced resilience of the network.
