In the 2021-27 Programming Period, requirements for climate proofing of investments are laid down in legislative acts of various EU funds emphasizing the need to ensure the climate proofing of supported investment in infrastructure. In this context, the objective of this project is to support EIB in the development of a practitioner’s guide on climate resilience proofing, which will build upon and expand the EC climate proofing guidance. The guide will provide step-by-step guidance on climate risk assessments and propose (sector-specific) measures/actions for enhancing resilience, considering different phases of project implementation. A fit-for-purpose approach for small infrastructure projects will be proposed to facilitate climate proofing with limited funding (e.g. case of rural roads).
