Thessaloniki Port – Container Terminal: Seismic performance of new piers

We were hired by the designer to assess the seismic performance of quaywall structures at the new Container Terminal of Thessaloniki Port in Greece. Project duties: Synthetic ground motion generation in accordance to the Greek Seismic Code; Site Response Analysis (integrating possible variations in soil properties); Seismic performance of quaywalls based on 2d total stress FE models; Vulnerability Assessment and recomendations for improved performance.
