On 29 September 2025, GRID Engineers was delighted to join the MSCA Staff Exchanges Dialogue at the Institute of Small Enterprises of GSEVEE, Athens.

Dr. Rallis Kourkoulis represented GRID Engineers on the panel of SME success stories, sharing lessons from the ReCharged (MSCA-SE) project. Rallis provided valuable insights from both the “hard” and “soft” aspects of participating in staff exchanges and offered concrete suggestions for making these collaborations more effective for SMEs.

Key points from his intervention included:

  • Strategic Purpose: Define why the collaboration is happening and ensure it aligns with company objectives.

  • Team Planning: Anticipate and plan for the secondee’s absence to avoid operational gaps.

  • Financial Viability: Current support is often insufficient — additional mechanisms are needed to make participation sustainable for SMEs.

  • Beyond the Project: Use MSCA collaborations as a springboard for long-term partnerships with host institutions.

Rallis joined peers from Planetek Hellas, BIOEMTECH, Korres S.A., Nova Mechanics, and EcoResources, sharing diverse SME perspectives on MSCA participation.

GRID Engineers is proud to contribute to shaping future MSCA programs and looks forward to continuing this dialogue to drive impactful industry–academia collaborations.
