The scope of the project in which we have partnered with CPCS, is to fortify climate resilience along road corridors in Djibouti by conducting thorough assessments and prioritizing interventions to address climate risks. The initiative encompasses several crucial elements, including corridor-level climate hazard modeling, analysis of climate exposure and vulnerability, climate stress testing, and vulnerability assessments. Additionally, adaptation and resilience options will be appraised, with a focus on gender-responsive stakeholder engagement for sustainable interventions.

Furthermore, the project will provide guidelines for integrating climate resilience into Output- and Performance-based Road Contracts (OPBRC), prioritize rural road upgrade and maintenance interventions based on climate considerations, and analyze climate adaptation policies for alignment and enhancement. This comprehensive strategy aims to bolster the resilience of transportation infrastructure and services, ensuring their longevity amidst the challenges posed by climate change.
