Development of a practitioner’s guide on climate resilience proofing, which will be compatible with the EC climate proofing guidance which will be accompanied by appropriate training and dissemination material to support outreach to its potential users.
In this context, the document will provide practical sectoral recommendations on the application of climate resilience proofing for various projects. In this context, given the different impact of climate risks on small-scale projects, their overall lower carbon footprint, and the scale of available resources for their implementation, the document will differentiate the guidance between large scale and small infrastructure projects.
The climate proofing guidance will cover several sectors
1. Energy, addressing wind, solar & hydropower generation plants, transmission and distribution networks, as well as district heating networks and energy storage systems.
2. Waste management, addressing the establishment, upgrade, or extension of sorting, treatment, and recovery facilities, as well as organics treatment facilities, and their interdependent systems.
3. Transport, addressing urban transport, roads (highways), rail, and maritime (seaports and river ports).
