The Ellinikon Project – the largest development and investment project in Greece undertaken by Lamda Development–, will turn the 620-hectare (1,500-acre) piece of real estate into a multi-purpose area of public parks, luxury residences, hotels, sporting facilities, exclusive shops, a yachting marina and a casino. The project also includes the construction of a group of emblematic high-rise buildings; two residential buildings, an office building, a hotel, and a casino with an integrated resort tower.
We were requested to conduct a Site Specific PSHA that will provide realistic ‘seismic demands’ for the structural design of various buildings of the settlement and the Marina Tower in particular. Seismic demands should be compatible with the regional seismicity and should take into consideration the local soil conditions. Our study employed the European Seismic Hazard Model considering individual earthquake sources and distributed seismicity.
