Today’s infrastructure is exposed to a myriad of new and old hazards evolving in uncertain patterns due to the climate change. Floods are on a rise, heavy rains have become a norm, landslides, mudslides and rockfalls are frequent, wind-patterns are constantly changing influenced by variations in regional participation, hurricanes are getting more dangerous, ice is melting at an accelerated rate permanently transforming the artic landscape. To top it all off, the world is preparing for the next big earthquake hit.
